Our clinic is located in a central Prince George location at 1533 7th Ave, at Midwives on 7 th a lovely shared office space with other birth professionals. Our fabulous receptionist is happy to accommodate your
questions and can book you an initial appointment to consult with Jane Hedges RM at any point in your pregnancy. We look forward to meeting you!

for women and their families throughout the pregnancy, the labour and birth and
the postpartum period.

WE ARE COVERED BY YOUR BC CARE CARD
Midwifery care is free to all residents of BC and is covered by your Care Card. No referral is necessary, all you have to do is call.
HOSPITAL OR HOME BIRTH
With a midwife, you can choose hospital or home birth.
CONTINUITY OF CARE
Jane Hedges is a
Registered Midwife working as a solo practitioner. You will see
Jane during your prenatal visits and she will be on call when you go
into labor. Having one practitioner ensures continuity of care and
having a midwife known to you at your birth.
COMPREHENSIVE CARE
Midwives offer 30-45 minute appointments so you get to know the
person who will be taking care of you. We also give you the latest
information in maternity care and the time to discuss these issues. We
offer all routine prenatal and postnatal tests. Midwives offer sensitive, continuous, one-to-one care during labor and delivery. In addition they are are on-call for their clients 24 hours a day/7 days a week. Following your birth Midwives continue to provide care for six weeks following the birth.
COLLABORATIVE MODEL
Midwives are specialists in maternity care for normal, healthy
women and babies. Should you or your baby require the care of a
physician, midwives will arrange that for you.
QUALITY CARE
Studies show midwifery clients have lower rates of infection,
episiotomies, cesarean sections, forceps deliveries, vacuum extractions
and newborns that require resuscitation.
PHILOSOPHY
